Nevertheless, when after a walk in the glorious sunshine that afternoon I called at Kal's, I found all the same company assembled as yesterday, still continuing their New Year celebrations. Kal and I dined with the Rumanovs, and I gave in to Baranovskaya's request to play. Her cheeks burned, and she was clearly very much affected by my playing.
