Rehearsal with Stock. Wisely, he had decided to go through the work with the orchestra well in advance. He wanted me to play the solo piano part, but in the first place the piano had no pedals as the lyre had been broken off when the piano was brought on to the stage, and in the second I do not yet thoroughly know the piece. Some passages are fine, but in others I go wrong when I am together with the orchestra.
