Played Myaskovsky's Fifth Symphony to Wolff, cunningly imitting most of the tedious second movement and leaving out the finale altogether. The Symphony found favour with the Frenchman, because having been composed during the war (when the compsoer was actually serving at the front) it was based on Galician themes. Wolff will perform it on the 28th March. I was as pleased as if it had been my own work.
