One very cold, very wet night, we found ourselves as virtually the only customers in a bar, listening to a genial but mediocre quintet. They asked if there was anything we'd like to hear.
Once we'd run through their Ellington repertoire, Shirley suggested 'Lover Man'. They'd never heard of it.
