Alan [Barnes] wrote an instrumental in her [Lily Goodman] honour as part of a programme called Swinging Down Broad Street for the Birmingham Jazz Festival in 2001. I was given the task of introducing the numbers, telling the stories behind them and keeping the audience quiet at Ronnie's.
