Next, the bells at the Hague. I mounted the tower of St. James and remained half stunned though much delighted while they played; examined the barrel and machinery of wires by which they moved; gave the tiger a florin, and after viewing from on high Delft, Rotterdam, and all the other places round this fine green country, descended and proceeded to the fish market.
