[A]fter a most hospitable blow-out of Staffordshire porkpie, and such a glass of strong beer as I had not tasted for years, I shuffled off to a fine old church, built in the time of Ethelred, where I tried the organ, and inspected a superb ancient stone pulpit, and various other antiquities.
