Mary Berry in on the River Thames at Richmond upon Thames - 31 July, 1813
from Diary of Mary Berry, 31 July 1813, page 539:
We dined early, to go on the water from six till past nine o’clock: it was a delicious evening, and the scene at Richmond in great beauty. Here the large ship, the Navigation Barge, filled with people, stopped for some time. We rowed, with a hundred other boats also filled with people, around the barge, on board of which they were dancing and playing music.
