Went to St. Peter’s to hear the music in the Capello del Choro, where eight cardinals were present. We saw their entrance in procession, very picturesque from the church. The music was fine—a double choir—and sung by the soprani of the Pope’s chapel. Later, we walked in the church; it was full of people, and decorated and lighted more than usual, on account of its being the fête of the consecration of the church.
