Thomas Cairns Livingston in Queens Park, southside Glasgow - 9 August, 1914, at night

from Diaries of Thomas Cairns Livingston vol. 2:

[The listening experience occured shortly after Britain declared war on Germany, 4 August 1914. The Victoria Road Drill Hall was extended along Coplaw Street in 1903; from there, the 7th Battalion was mobilised in August 1914 before deployment to Gallipoli and then the Western front]

Sunday 9 August … After dinner we all went to Queens Park & heard the Band playing where the territorials are quartered in Coplaw Street.
