Notes

During the summer of 1820, Moore and his family lived in a cottage in the grounds of La Butte Coaslin, the country home of his friends the Villamils, at Sèvres. The Kenney family were living at nearby Bellevue. Miss Holcroft was one of James Kenney's stepdaughters.
