We dined early, to go on the water from six till past nine o’clock: it was a delicious evening, and the scene at Richmond in great beauty. Here the large ship, the Navigation Barge, filled with people, stopped for some time. We rowed, with a hundred other boats also filled with people, around the barge, on board of which they were dancing and playing music.
