From Myaskovsky I went on to the Ruzskys. Nikolay Pavlovich roared that I had neglected him and no longer loved him. I retorted that it was just the opposite: it was he who had fallen out of love with me; no sooner did I arrive than he would be off to Vilnius. We played the Ballade.
