Next I conducted the Introduction and Dance of the Maidens from Shaposhnikov's ballet The King's Feast. It sounded all right with all its tricks of orchestration, but musically it is thin stuff. When this was over I had finished my stint on the podium, so went to find Zore, and because there was no seat free next to her made her come back to the fourth row with me.
