Verochka Alpers was performing in a student concert. She played not badly, a little pallid, but it was quite successful. In the same concert I was accompanying another of Ossovskaya's students, a girl. Ossovskaya herself was not present because she was ill, but she had asked Verochka and Max to call in afterwards and tell her how it had all gone. It was not a long concert, and finished about eleven o'clock.
