Sick as she was, Mom loved having an organ in the house. She'd ask me to pick out her favorite hymns with one finger on that little organ. One of these favorites was "His Eye Is on the Sparrow," the hymn I sing now for the second-act curtain in my Broadway play, The Member of the Wedding.
