Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 4 December, 1912
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 5 December 1912, page 252:
Yesterday I played my cello Ballade with Abashidze*. He played like Ruzsky, that is to say he managed all the notes, but not very well. Once again I felt convinced that the cello sounds good and that the Ballade is a very fine piece.
