In the afternoon I went to see Kolechka* to show off my Bassoon Scherzo and to inspect his new piano. The Scherzo was a huge success, the only criticism being to enquire why there should be a modulation to D major before the trio. He is very unhappy with the recently published Etudes by Scriabin on the intervals of the ninth, the seventh and the fifth and considers they are not worth performing. In my 'Suggestion diabolique' and especially 'Snow' he considers my use of parallel ninths incomparably more successful. I don't like the Scriabin Etudes myself.
