The opera is not suited for uninitiated ears, it is too bold in rhythm and harmony; the text so terribly far-fetched that the music must to some extent, be of the same kind; it has, however, very many beauties, and the airs 'Glöcklein im Thale' and 'Unter Blühenden Mandelbäumen'.
