Yesterday we were together at Schumanns', who gave a party in their own house. Madame Schumann played my 'Trio' and Mendelssohn's in a consummate way; David accompanied, and as a finale I was made to play some 'Studies.' Fräulein List sang some 'Leider' in a pretty, cultivated style.
