Ignatz Moscheles in Leipzig - 1849

from Recent Music and Musicians, page 355:

Yesterday, for the first time, we saw Halévy's 'Thal von Andorra' - music of a genuine dramatic character, which has more flow of melody than his other operas. The subject is cleverly worked up and very expressive. It was so finely given, that the entire body of performers was called forward.
