There was no lack of ardour either on the part of the singers or their hearers at St. John (New Brunswick), whence we proceeded to Moncton where, although a small town, I met an even larger choir again created for our purpose. No choral work had ever been given there, and this was the first occasion upon which an orchestra had performed; the unique experience being mine of having every item on the programme encored.
