Ignatz Moscheles in Milan - in the middle of 1853

from Recent Music and Musicians, page 379:

Fumagalli played a song by Gordigiani, 'O santissima Vergine Maria,' very gracefully; afterwards he displayed great powers of execution and novel effects in his 'Carnevale di Più,' which in humor and dash is not inferior to Paganinis.
