The audience in Exeter Hall, London in London - December, 1847

from A Memoir of Baron Bunsen Volume II, page 131:

An extract from a Contemporary Notice, 1st May, 1847 - Later, in the last month of this year, the ' Elijah ' was finely performed at Exeter Hall, the whole orchestra and most of the audience being in mourning for the death of Mendelssohn. On this occasion the rare powers of Jenny Lind called forth the full effect of the soprano passages, so grand in the last act.
