Wilhelm Ganz in Her Majesty's Theatre - 1850

from Memories of a Musician: Reminiscences of Seventy years of Musical Life, page 16:

During the season of 1850, at Her Majesty's, the once celebrated soprano, Madame Pasta, re- appeared in her famous role of Anna Bolena in Donizetti's opera of that name. She was then fifty-three years old. The audience was full of expectation to hear this great artiste; but, un-fortunately, she was quite passee, and sang flat; so her reappearance turned out a fiasco.
