Sergei Prokofiev - 12 February, 20th Century
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 12 February 1913, pages 313-314:
I went over to Umnenkaya and the red-haired Natasha (the English rose and the English horse) and suggested to them that we go off on our own and work somewhere else. They willingly agreed, we found an empty classroom and started going through Polina and the Countess. Umnenkaya was in high spirits and sang with gusto. She has a strong voice, the timbre struck me as too thick to be entirely pleasing, but she herself is a delight. Redheaded Natasha sang well.
