After dinner I put on my dinner-jacket and headed towards Offitserskaya Street to take Umnenkaya* to Siegfried. I stayed for half an hour in pleasant conversation with Lida and her sistersm then we went to the theatre. She has a new coiffure, and as always looks most elegant. The box to our right was occupied by the Ruzskys, sitting in the one to the left was Volodya Deshevov, hence Lida and I were subjected to a crossfire of curious glances.
