It was at Rovigo that I first saw, in Verdi's opera of "Attila," a prima donna whose name afterwards came to be intimately associated with Her Majesty's Theatre, and was at once charmed with the fresh and resonnante voice of Mademoiselle Sophie Cruvelli.
