in Royal Festival Hall - the 1950's

from Southbank Centre Archive:

Royal Festival Hall brought music to the masses. Underprivileged and uneducated people could learn and enjoy the wonders of real music and expand their appreciation of the classics. I have seen Ashkenazy - Rattle but Evgeny Kissin was something unexplainable. Thank you for being there.
