Sergei Prokofiev - 30 September, 1914, in the afternoon
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 30 September 1914, pages 746-747:
I then went to the Studio, where my new student did not turn up and there were just the two: the red-haired girl and the dark-haired girl. The dark-haired one played badly, as usual, but the redhead was good and I enjoyed working with her. My manner is like Yesipova squared: I impose very precise demands and know exactly what it is I want to achieve. In my opinion I am an excellent teacher and my students should do very well. After the lesson the Director of the Studio asked me how my students were getting on; I praised the redhead and criticized the brunette.
