In the evening I went to Pavlovsk, where Tilya Hansen was playing. I walked with the Damskaya sisters and went backstage to the artists' room to see Hansen. Both Hansen sisters were very nice. In spite of the war preparations they had gone to Vilnius to give a concert but had barely managed to get back at all, so crowded were the trains: there was a huge exodus from western Russia. I shall not be able to get to Terioki either: all troop detachments in Finland are being brought up to strength and there are only a couple of trains a day for dacha residents.
