I came to a concert given by Stefan Grapelli and he somehow transformed that huge space into a dark, dimly lit smokey bistro- an intimate space where we felt close to him and to each other- as though we were eagerly crowded onto a tiny performance area. My brother and I were at the top at the back.It was a pure and wonderful illusion from a wonderful musican.
