After dinner I wanted to go to Ziloti's concert, particularly to hear Debussy's Jeux. The tickets had all been sold, so I went to the backstage entrance and sent up my card to Ziloti with the following inscription: 'SSP begs of Alexander Ilyich the very great favour of granting him a pass, so that he may hear the performance of Debussy's Jeux.' Ziloti ordered a pass to be given to me, and so I got into the concert. 

Jeux is an interesting and poetic piece without much content. 'Well, no, you won't find a lot of meat in it,' agreed Tcherepnin, who himself finds other things besides meat to admire in the French composers he loves so much.
