Hans Werner Henze in Royal Festival Hall - between the 1950's and the 1990's
from Southbank Centre Archive:
1950s: going with my primary school to sing Christmas carols and learning the meaning ot the word acoustic! 1970s: a Henze concert attended by himself. 1980s: a schools' concert at which my eldest daughter played the voilin, the middle one sang in the choir of their primary school. They too have happy memories. 1990s: a Simon Rattle concert which Henze again attended, when there was a memorable performance of Raft of the Medusa.
