in Royal Festival Hall - 1955

from Southbank Centre Archive:

In 1955 we were two National Servicemen stationed near Reading, and we took the train to London to hear the great Nathan Milstein play Brahms Violin Concerto. All seats had been sold ages ago but the Festival Hall decided to

allow standing room underneath the boxes---a great performance but very tired feet when the concert finished.
