Béla Bartók in Cleveland - early December, 1940

from Béla Bartók Letters, page 293:

We have played a few times in New York; on Dec. 1st I set out on an 8-day tour of Cleveland and the surrounding district; it was there that I made the acquaintance of Oszkár Jászi. The Hungarians in Cleveland gave a large party: with gipsy music and palotás (!!).
