P.S. In the meantime, Mr. Menuhin played my violin concerto in Minneapolis, and will play it in Apr. in Washington and in Baltimore. The performance in New York was really marvellous [sic]: all the 3 factors (soloist, conductor, orchestra) were the best a composer could wish for his work.
