Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 22 April, 1914

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 22 April 1914, page 659:

Altogether there were seven contestants: (1) Kherson, Ossovskaya's student, amounting to precisely zero; (2) Kind, a substantial pianist and a very nice girl, who played radiantly today and produced a great effect by breaking one of the thick lower strings; (3) the student Galperin, who played not badly but without much refinement.
