Sergei Prokofiev in Saint Petersburg Conservatory - 17 January, 1915

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 14-31 January 1915, pages 6-7:

The premiere of Duckling took place on the 17th in the Small Hall of the Conservatoire. The singer was Anna Grigorievna, and I accompanied. Anna Grigorievna had prepared the work with a dedication born of love, and sang it very well. We had expected a huge success, but in fact it was rather modest, the audience not really understanding it even though many people said how delighted they were with it.
