I could not restrain myself from boasting about the telegram* at that evening's 'Contemporaries' concert. The event itself was as drab and boring as could be, inflicting on us pieces by Akimenko, Yulia Weisberg and other such prunes, while that alley-cat of a Zakharov had once again failed to learn Myaskovsky's Second Sonata**.
