Sergei Prokofiev in New York City - 15 November, 1920, in the afternoon

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 25 November 1920, page 551:

In the afternoon at Marinuzzi's invitation I attended the rehearsal of Jacquerie. It was better than I had expected, and although if one regards it purely as music it does not have any great merit, from the operatic point of view it is expertly done and often effective, and vulgarity is kept to a minimum.
