So turn up we did at the Volkov's at one o'clock, to be leapt on by Smallens and St Leger dancing and yelling and playing the March from Three Oranges on toy Christmas whistles. The Consul and his wife were a little cool to me, despite the bottle of champagne (a real rarity) Baranovskaya had brought along.
