Sergei Prokofiev in Paris - 24 October, 1922, at night

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 25 February - 23 November 1922, pages 678-679:

In the second half of October I went to paris to perform the Third Piano Concerto with Koussevitzky, a re-engagement after the successful April premiere. it was again a great success: in Paris I am loved. However, the March and Scherzo from Three oranges, which Koussevitzky also included in the prorgamme for this concert (and which, when he played them in London in the spring had been encored) did not make much impact in this context. Even I did not care much for the March - but how splendid it had sounded in Chicago as part of the opera!
