At nine o'clock the wretched female on the floor below began strumming on the piano, and as the night before I had gone to bed at four, I did not get enough sleep. Ptashka commissioned O.V. [Olga Vladislavovna Codina, Lina's mother] to buy some wax plugs for me to stop up my ears, on account both of the girl and of Svyatoslav. It is just as well that I have no plans to composer this spring! In June we will go somewhere by the sea, and then ... !
