Sergei Prokofiev in Paris - 12 May, 1924, at night

from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 12 May 1924, page 52:

My concert took place in the evening. There was a bigger audience than on the previous occasions, but still not many for such a big hall. My playing was poised and clean; my two months of work at the piano preparing for the appearance with Koussevitzky had made me a professional pianist, and Borovsky thought that I played very well.

Yuryevskaya sang not at all badly, but on catching sight of Koussevitzky took fright and went wrong in 'I light the fire'. After the concert Yuryevskaya, her husband, Borovsky and I had tea together.
