Sergei Prokofiev in Paris - 26 October, 1924
from Sergey Prokofiev diaries: 26 October 1924, page 108:
Tcherepnin played me his new ballet, the one I had been asked to compose in May,* but after I declined had been offered to him. There were some good passages in it, but overall it is a weak piece and, strange to relate, shows the influence of Stravinsky, whom he so loves to disparage.
