[Letter from Jemima Yorke to Mary Gregory, 20th August 1749]

I have had the Satisfaction of hearing from M.r Yorke as often as he could find Opportunities upon his Journey & of his getting well last Thursday Se'ennight to Paris. He wrote the Day: after he got there, so that I am not provided yet with any gossiping Intelligence for you, exept that he had been at the Opera, & though he is afraid to own it to me, seems to have lik'd it very well: the Dances he says are very good, & the Chorus's quite Rejouissans.
