Letter from George Savile to Gertrude Savile, DD SR 212/15/31, 4th October 1748, from Rufford
I am glad Garrick grows in your favour. I think he will improve upon you - at least if he does not grow negligent or a Gallery actor - both which faults he now and then allows himself. I think he might be perfect if he woud take pains, and trust to his own judgment a little more than he does. Sir Lionel Pilkington is here and we have a power of Musick. I don’t know if you know I have a fidler here that’s a fine Man.
