from Manuscripts of the Earl of Egmont. Diary of Viscount Percival Afterwards First Earl of Egmont, page 224:

Diary entry 22nd February 1732

From the House I went to the Rose Tavern in Chancery Lane, to the anniversary dinner kept by the Society for Propagating Christian Knowledge, and afterwards I went to the Opera Sosarmis, made by Hendel [sic], which takes with the town, and that justly, for it is one of the best I ever heard.
