Ned Rorem in Tulsa International Airport - 23 April, 1985

from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, page 559:

During the trek to the Tulsa airport Calvert Johnson played, on the car cassette, his rendition of my organ suite, Views from the Oldest House. How weird to heard this Nantucket music as we sped through the Tulsanian landscape, especially while simultaneously my host divulged that there had been resistance by faculty members to my being invited to Northeastern State University.
